2008 Saleen S7-R

Team CJ is proud to offer an exceptional piece of GT1 racing history and the final example produced of just 23 cars built.

This 2008 Saleen S7-R, chassis 082R, is the final example built of just 23 total S7-Rs and one of only four constructed by renowned French race shop Oreca. Developed as a purpose-built GT1 race car derived from the Saleen S7 road car, the S7-R features a honeycomb-reinforced spaceframe chassis and an all-aluminum 7.0-liter Ford Windsor–based V8 producing approximately 550 horsepower. Early S7-Rs were assembled by Ray Mallock Limited in the UK, but later chassis were completed by Oreca, who revised the rear structure and equipped the final four examples, including this car, with a transverse six-speed Xtrac gearbox to improve durability over earlier longitudinal units.

Delivered to Team Larbre Competition in March 2008, 082R debuted at the 2009 1000 Kilometres of Catalunya and went on to compete in a full season of the Le Mans Series (LMS). Driven by Roland Bervillé, Sébastien Dumez, and Steve Zacchia, the car secured multiple podium finishes including a class win at the Nürburgring after Laurent Groppi joined the driver lineup. The season wrapped with a 2nd-in-class finish at Silverstone, helping Larbre secure 2nd in the GT1 Team Championship and Bervillé 3rd in the Drivers’ standings.

For the 2010 season, 082R became the only S7-R to be re-homologated with further upgrades by Oreca. These included revised aerodynamics, Cerobear ceramic hub carriers, Öhlins dampers, and an uprated Elan Technologies V8. The car went on to dominate the GT1 class with wins at Paul Ricard, Portimão, Hungaroring, and Silverstone. Most notably, it claimed a class victory at the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans, finishing 13th overall against factory-entered Ford GTs, Corvettes, and Aston Martin DBR9s. The season concluded with another class win at the 1000 Kilometres of Zhuhai, cementing Larbre’s dominance in the GT1 category.

Chassis 082R has remained with Larbre Competition since new and has benefited from recent servicing and mechanical refurbishment. In November 2022, all major brake, fuel, and oil lines were renewed along with brake master cylinders and caliper seals. Suspension components were crack tested, and all time-limited safety equipment seat, harness, extinguisher, and fuel cell was replaced. An engine dyno test was performed by Oreca in May 2023.

The car is offered with a spares package that includes four sets of wheels, two driveshafts, and a spare gearset. As the final and most developed example of the S7-R platform, 082R represents a highly significant entry into Saleen’s motorsport history and is eligible for historic race series including Endurance Racing Legends.
