This beautiful 1993 Bentley Continental R was at the very pinnacle of the world’s luxury car market when new. The original window sticker (that is still with the car) shows a staggering $269,500 MSRP!
Chassis number CX4261 is finished in its factory color scheme of Royal Blue with sumptuous Parchment hides piped in Dark Blue. Despite being thirty two years removed from the factory, the Continental’s cabin is still a very special place to be, featuring polished walnut veneers, Wilton wool carpets and luxuriant lambs wool royal blue rugs. The car has clearly never been smoked in and smells fresh and clean – with a just a hint of that lovely vintage leather fragrance we all love.
Our 1993 Continental R has been in the hands of one loving owner from new and has been driven a mere 42,200 miles. We recently purchased the car from the original owner and immediately treated it a thorough, no expense spared service in the Team CJ Workshops. In preparation for sale, we changed all fluids and filters, replaced rear suspension gas spheres, serviced the AC system, installed a new (remanufactured) steering rack, performed a four wheel alignment and installed four new tires. The car is now running and driving beautifully, with a luxurious yet quite sporty ride.
The seats, carpeting, door panels and headliner are all in exceptional condition, and the polished veneers are extremely nice, with only a few minor flaws. There is some hide shrinkage on the dash and the rear parcel shelf which would be relatively straightforward to repair, although whether to do so will be the choice of the next owner. We have included detailed photographs of the dash and parcel shelf shrinkage in the listing. The overall impression and condition of the interior is exceptional.
Paint meter readings (photographed in the gallery) indicate that some panels may have been repainted at some point in the past. The circumstances of any repaint are unknown to us. Other than the meter readings, there is no obvious visual evidence of prior paintwork, nor can we can find any evidence of any filler work anywhere on the body. A clean Carfax shows no accident damage and confirms the Bentley’s single ownership from new. The Carfax report also documents multiple service events, many at the main dealer, although in recent years the car has been maintained “in-house” as part of an extensive private collection of cars and aircraft. We do not have any of the old service documents.
This Bentley Continental R car currently needs absolutely nothing and is ready for its next owner to enjoy for many years to come. Everything works on the car, even down to the clock! The sale includes two keys, a mostly complete factory tool set, jack, owner’s manual, miscellaneous factory supplied literature, two original glossy window stickers, the original brochure from the supplying dealer, the console mounted (and hidden) telephone, a complete factory workshop manual and a factory trickle charger.
