Team CJ is pleased to present a rare and collectible 1974 Porsche 914 LE for sale. One of just 1,000 examples produced to commemorate Porsche’s 917/30 and its domination of the 1973 Can-Am series.
Built exclusively for the North American market and offered for only one model year, the 914 LE was split evenly between two distinctive liveries: 500 “Bumblebee” (black with yellow accents) and 500 “Creamsicle” (ivory with red accents).
Though commonly associated with SCCA Can-Am, Porsche officially named the model the “914 Limited Edition” due to the licensing costs of the SCCA Can-Am name.
Standout features of the LE package include:
- Bold two-tone exterior finish
- Mahle alloy wheels
- Front spoiler and rear anti-roll bars
- Leather-wrapped steering wheel
- Auxiliary gauges: oil temperature, voltmeter, and clock
Performance was also upgraded, with each LE powered by a Porsche-revised Volkswagen 2.0L flat-four, producing 91 horsepower (up from the 1.8L’s 73 hp) and paired to an improved transaxle, offering notably smoother and more precise gear changes than earlier models.
According to David Pateman’s Porsche Can-Am Registry, a total of 303 of these limited-edition “Can-Am” cars are known to exist today, of which 185 feature the black/yellow “bumblebee” livery. This example benefits from recent service in the Team CJ Workshops and is in outstanding condition throughout. It retains its numbers-matching status and is accompanied by an official Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
A fantastic opportunity to own a rare and desirable variant of the Porsche 914.
