Here is a real opportunity to acquire a running and driving E Type for a great price! This 1972 E Type 2+2 has been modified by its previous owner to reflect his desire for more comfort (note the later model sedan seats) and also his enthusiastic support of the mighty Texas Longhorns football team! At some point in the past the car was professionally converted to a Getrag 5 speed and fuel injection, both derived from a later model Jaguar XJS.
The car runs and drives reasonably well. The clutch has a slight judder sometimes when pulling away in first gear, so at some point the buyer should expect the clutch will need replacing. The engine starts easily, runs smooth and shifts through the gears nicely. The AC works well and the car just sailed through state safety inspection.
There is some rust in the undercarriage, the worst of which is beneath the boot floor. This V12 E Type should be thought of as a running and driving project at an entry level price.
The paintwork has some significant flaws but is presentable overall. It does not show as well in real life as it does in the photographs.
